Why I Transitioned into Becoming a Manhood Coach (And Why It Matters More Than Ever)

After over two decades working with youth as a social worker, coach, and mentor, I’ve stepped into a new chapter—one that’s been forming in my heart for years. I now serve as a Manhood Coach in my own private practice, guiding boys and young men on their journey toward purposeful manhood.

This transition didn’t happen overnight. It was shaped through years of mentoring teenagers in crisis, working with families navigating adolescence, and more recently, through my own personal journey of growth—including stepping into the fight ring in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and relocating with my family in pursuit of a more aligned life.

Why Manhood Coaching Is Needed Now

In today’s fast-paced digital world, many boys grow up without consistent male role models, rites of passage, or real guidance on what it means to become a man. Left to their own devices (literally), they often piece together their identity from social media, influencers, or peers—sources that often lack depth, values, or long-term vision.

As a result, many young men enter adulthood feeling:

  • Emotionally disconnected
  • Confused about masculinity
  • Lacking confidence or direction
  • Unprepared for real-life responsibilities

Manhood coaching fills this gap. It creates a safe, structured, and intentional space for young men to explore identity, responsibility, strength, emotional maturity, and life purpose—all within the presence of mentors, coaches, and real community.

What Manhood Coaching Is Not

With increasing conversations around masculinity, it’s important to clarify what Manhood Coaching is not:

❌ It is not about promoting outdated stereotypes or rigid gender roles.
❌ It is not about glorifying dominance, aggression, or bravado.
❌ It is not a rejection of emotional vulnerability or sensitivity.
❌ It is not exclusive or dismissive of other gender identities or expressions.

Instead, Manhood Coaching is about helping young men:

  • Understand and embrace healthy masculinity
  • Build resilience and integrity
  • Lead with responsibility and empathy
  • Cultivate self-awareness, discipline, and purpose

It’s a journey of guiding boys toward becoming men who are strong and gentle, confident and grounded, powerful and humble.

Why I’m Committed to This Path

As a father to two growing boys, I’ve seen firsthand the need for positive male mentoring, open conversations, and experiences that challenge, shape, and build character. My work has shifted toward helping boys and young men:

  • Develop confidence and resilience
  • Navigate challenges with emotional strength
  • Prepare for adulthood with clarity
  • Heal from father wounds and identity struggles

Through 1-to-1 coaching and mentoring, young warrior circles, and rite of passage camps, I help boys transition from passivity to purpose—from simply existing, to leading their own journey into manhood.

What to Watch Out for in the Coming Months

As I continue to walk this path, here are a few things you can look forward to:

Final Thoughts

Manhood isn’t something boys stumble into. It must be forged—with intention, courage, and guidance.

That’s why I’m here. Not just as a coach, but as a fellow man walking this road—learning, growing, and guiding others along the way.

If this resonates with you as a parent, youth worker, educator, or a young man yourself—reach out. Let’s build this movement together.
