In today’s fast-paced, hyper-distracted world, we often find ourselves disconnected—from ourselves, from one another, and from a deeper sense of purpose. We men especially wear masks of strength, achievement, and self-sufficiency, but beneath those masks lie real questions, quiet struggles, and deep longing for meaningful connection.

We were never meant to walk this journey alone.

Throughout history, men have gathered in circles—around fires, in forests, in sacred spaces—to share stories, receive wisdom, reflect on life, and prepare for the responsibilities ahead. These gatherings weren’t just about talking; they were about forming identity, transmitting values, and reinforcing brotherhood.

But in our modern societies, especially in places like Singapore and even amidst the beauty of Chiang Mai, those spaces have quietly disappeared.

Rediscovering Brotherhood through Fireside Chats

As a Manhood Coach and mentor working with fathers and sons, I’ve seen firsthand what happens when men step back into community.

Walls come down. Real conversations happen. Inner strength begins to rebuild.

That’s why I’m starting something simple but powerful: the Fireside Chat for Men. It’s not a lecture. Not a seminar. Just an evening where men come together around a fire to reflect, reconnect, and remember what it means to live with strength, purpose, and integrity.

We do this not just for ourselves, but for the boys who are watching us.

We Are the Example Our Boys Need

Every boy is asking: What does it mean to be a man? And whether we realize it or not, they’re watching us for the answer.

When we show up with vulnerability, strength, and presence—we give them permission to do the same.

When we build brotherhood and a healthy male community, we create a container where boys and young men can grow into themselves with guidance and safety.

This is the work of manhood coaching and mentoring. And it starts with us men.

Join Us at Fireside Chat for Men in Chiang Mai on 7 June

On Saturday evening, 7 June 2025, I’ll be hosting the very first Fireside Chat for Men at the beautiful Village Green Cafe & Retreat Centre, just outside Chiang Mai city.

Whether you’re a local resident, a father, a mentor, or someone considering a trip during the June holidays, you’re invited to join us for an unforgettable evening of connection and reflection. I can also arrange for accommodations for you at the retreat centre if you need.

If you happen to be free—or even plan to take a purposeful trip to Chiang Mai this June—drop me a message. Let’s build this space together for our boys and for ourselves.

Because manhood isn’t forged in isolation. It’s formed in community.
