Having dinner at a treehouse restaurant, surrounded by nature and padi fields!
Over the recent Songkran break, my family and I, along with our friend Claryn and her two boys, took time off for a much-needed 3D2N retreat—and it was a beautiful reminder of what really matters.
In a world that’s constantly rushing, this retreat gave us space to slow down, reconnect, and simply be present with one another. From shared meals to spontaneous laughter, quiet reflections to adventurous outings, every moment became a chance to deepen our relationships—with ourselves, with our children, and with each other.
One of the most refreshing parts of the retreat was doing it with another family. The kids had their moments of fun, play, and curiosity together, while the adults got to share, support, and just breathe. There’s something deeply grounding when you’re surrounded by others who value the same kind of intentional living.
Where We Stayed – Village Green Café & Retreat Centre

Surrounded by nature and mountains!
Our stay at the Village Green Café & Retreat Centre, hosted by our friend Lenny, was truly the heart of the experience. Nestled in the quiet beauty of Doi Saket, Chiang Mai, this retreat centre is surrounded by lush greenery, majestic mountain views, and clean, crisp air. It’s the kind of place that invites you to exhale fully and leave the noise of life behind.
The food? Nourishing, wholesome, and full of flavour. The service? Impeccable—clean, welcoming, and thoughtful in every detail. Whether you’re there for rest, play, or reflection, Village Green offers an atmosphere of peace and simplicity that is hard to find elsewhere.

Why It Mattered

Catching time with my wife at the hotsprings!
This wasn’t just a holiday—it was an investment in relationships, well-being, and memories. For the kids, it was play and freedom. For us adults, it was connection and clarity. We all need more of that.
